Admiral Jonathan Archer
The Devil’s Chevalier

Admiral Archer was making his rounds at his R&D dock when a call comes in to his location.  A young officer relays for him to come to an adjoining comm station to receive the message.  He had little to fear safe in his own roost in orbit, so he strode fearless to the com station and activated the video link and was surprised to see the face of his adversary on the other end.

"Ah...Admiral McCabe.  What a pleasure to hear from you.  Seeing as you were looking for me....what is it I can do for you?"

Archer sat down and kept his eyes locked on the image of McCabe and didn't show the slightest inkling of emotion as he did.

Commander Jansen "Vortex" Graham
The Alpha Male

Jansen had arrived at the control room in time to receive a message from Admiral Archer's office about some equipment that will be arriving later this evening and into the early hours of the morning.  It also stated that the open hangar will be used to set up said equipment.  It also stated that some new officers would also be arriving in the morning for the briefing and training of your pilots.

Jansen thanked the Ensign and exited the room and as he stood contemplating what he had read, his PDA chimes.  He lifted it from his pocket and read the message from Illeana.  He shook his head as he scanned her report about the rumored new pilots and their lack of planes for them.  He also smiled when he saw that she was going to pay the unit a visit on the beach.  Now I know I made the right choice when I picked you for my XO.

Returning his PDA to his pocket, he thought about her last line.  An invite to see her in the Officer's Club for a drink.  Sher was worried about this whole chain of command thing too.  It didnt take him long to make up his mind.  He first made his way to his office where he placed a call to the security team at the gate.  When he heard the voice on the other end he spoke.

"Sergent, I want to inform you that some deliveries will be coming in this evening and they are cleared to enter.  This clearance comes from the Admiral himself."

With a satisfactory response, he killed the channel and then headed for the Officer's club to await Illeana's arrival.

Megan

Megan smiled at the woman that had responded to Yuu's whistle and was caught by surprise by her actions and her words.

"Get the hell away from him you beach blanket bimbo!"

As the sand hit her, Megan's smile faded and was replaced with a look of extreme anger.

"Who the he@% do you think you are?  And I will have you know that I outrank you Ensign."

She took notice of the uniform the woman still wore and then felt the hands of someone trying to restrain her from making any attempts at harming this mental case.  It was her sister Molly and Duane as well.

Lieutenant (JG) Duane "D-Bear" Dearborne
Fangs out -- he's looking for targets on the beach!

Duane quickly moved and took a position between the two females and faced Ina with an expression of extreme anger.

"What the frak is your problem Ina!!  That was whack!  You trying to start something?"

He glanced to Yuu and motioned with his head towards Ina with the intent for him to step up and say something.

"L-T...you need to check her!  Crazy whack job coming out here and trying to start something."

AS he spoke those words, he took notice of a jeep stopping on top of the dune and also noticed the driver.  It was the LtCmdr and this would not look good for a fight to be breaking out.  He cut his eyes at Ina one more time and then helped Molly lead Megan away from Ina and gave Dorian a look as they passed.  Dorian could only shake his head and smile.

Elana

"No...looks like we have most of the night now..."

She settled in close against his chest and almost purred.

"Good.  I was hoping you would get to stay a little longer."

She was distracted by the encounter between her friend Megan and some looney woman and then noticed a jeep pulling up beyond her.  She shook her head as Megan was moved away and turned back to David.

"Friends of yours?  Is she always like that?  I mean a mental case."

ADM John A. McCabe
Having old sins over for dinner.

Admiral McCabe realized that calling Archer was a mistake the second he saw his.. colleague's face displayed on the minute screen before him. Despite his own assurances regarding that he needed to keep his cool earlier, he'd snapped and demanded for a connection to be established between them both as the Captain told him about Archer taking the Purple Foxes behind his back. You still have a few cards up your sleeve... he thought. It wasn't the right time to reveal his hand. Not yet, anyways.

Forcing his outward self to look as calm as usual, McCabe waited for Archer's inane 'what can I do for you' babble to come to an end prior to speaking up.

"Admiral, I just wanted to congratulate you on the christening of the Shinimami." He mis-quoted the ship's name deliberately, though he made an effort to make it sound as if he actually believed that to be the flagship's name. "She'll make one hell of a flagship." John said as he smiled lightly at the monitor.

"One word of advice, though. Be careful with the fold drives. When we first tested that model, they tore the drone ship apart. I was told that, after going through the space/time distortion it made, there wasn't enough of the drone ship left to fill a coffee mug."

LTCMDR Illeana Weissenberg
Uncertainty is not your friend.

Illeana's eyes narrowed as she pulled hard on the jeep's parking brake lever, her attention on a scuffle taking place not that far away from where she'd brought the vehicle to a stop. Leaving the beer six-packs onboard, the blonde-haired pilot got out of the car. Noticing that Dyson -plus a bridge bunny donning a yellow bikini- was close to her, Illeana offered them a light wave prior to making her way to the scuffle.

Duane stood between Ensign Khan and a red-haired woman, that seemed not too pleased at her. Throughout her career, Illeana had always tried to make a point out of not punishing those under her command that hadn't earned it, but the very sight of Ina made her not even care if she'd started it or not.

She turned to look at the green-haired 'pilot', her body tense with anger. "Ensign Khan, get back to base and report to the brig. Now. I'll deal with you later."

David just shakes his head, "No...I don't have any friends, their just members of our squad...makes me wish I still were doing solo missions, random bunch of crazy coherts who need some some discipline and experience...but I guess they're alright to work with I suppose...heh" He takes out his former squads SPECOPS emblem lighter and pack of cigs from his left pocket, "You smoke?" He lights one up and takes a hit.

"Admiral, I just wanted to congratulate you on the christening of the Shinimami....She'll make one hell of a flagship."

Hearing the mispronunciation of the ship's name made Archer grit his teeth but through his years of scraping his way to the top, has learned to hide those emotions.

"One word of advice, though. Be careful with the fold drives. When we first tested that model, they tore the drone ship apart. I was told that, after going through the space/time distortion it made, there wasn't enough of the drone ship left to fill a coffee mug."

Taking his words with a grain of salt, Archer smiled and nodded.

"Thank you for your concern and I agree that she will be great.  You need not worry about me.  I am well taken care of....unlike some others...I hear."

His eyes focused on his adversary on the screen and a thought crossed his mind.

"Oh and by the way Admiral.  I understand that you have put together a couple units and were having them trained at a semi-secret location.  Is there any truth to this?  And do be careful how you answer."

This would test the man and he couldnt wait for him to squirm out of this one.

Ina Khan!
Ina latched on to Yuu's arm.  "Oh Yuu.  You're okay aren't you?"  So glad to see that he's all right she was somewhat oblivious jeep until she heard something about a brig.   Her jaw dropped.   "Excuse moi?  The brig?   Did I do something wrong?   Oh Yuu, I'm afraid I might have to go.   Promise me you'll visit me before it is too late."    There was things that Ina didn't understand.   Like how the Commander could send her to the brig without knowing what was going on.   Ina also didn't realise that she was expected to find her own way back.   She gets a ride back in the jeep right.    She walked over to the jeep ready to jump in the back when she noticed something odd.   Beer.   A little smirk came on her face.   That same little vindictive smirk she made before did something naughty.   She bent down pretending to fix one of her sandals and secretly popped a tab off one the can and let some of it spill in the jeep.  Standing up after fixing her sandal she 'noticed' the beer.   "Wow look at all this beer!   Have you been drinking Commander?"

LTCMDR Illeana "Razor" Weissenberg
The Executive Officer.

Not trusting Ina to follow orders as far as she could see her, Illeana followed the green-haired pilot as she made her way towards the beach's entrance, coming to an unexpected stop near the parked jeep that she'd driven into the beack a moment earlier. Mistaking Ina's doing so as her way of having a moment with her XO so they could talk in private and maybe explain her actions a little, Illeana did nothing to force her to keep walking. Her decision soon revealed to be a mistake.

What she assumed to be a veiled accusation of her being drunk on Ina's part followed, despite the fact that the squadron was officially off duty, and angered Illeana to no end.
"Not nearly enough to deal with your crap anymore." Illeana hissed as a reply, quickly moving closer to Ina until there wasn't but a few inches separating her face from that of the green-haired pilot under her command, glaring into her eyes. "And you'd better stand at attention when I'm talking to you!" Illeana roared, the anger bubbling inside her just aching to use her to mop the beach's floor, if such a thing could be actually done.

What the frack is wrong with her? She angrily thought. Maybe wanting her to keep her fracking mouth shut is asking too much.. the blonde-haired hastily concluded.

Noticing a rugged-looking man wearing trunks and a white t-shirt that was standing close to the jeep, most likely out of curiosity, Illeana took a couple steps back and gestured for him to get closer to where both Ina and herself stood next to the jeep  "You're with the station's Marine detachment, yes?" She asked.

"Yes, ma'am. Corporal Schmidt."

"Good. Corporal, you will escort the Ensign back to the station's brig on this jeep as soon as I'm done with her here. She's to be detained there until further notice. Once you've driven her there, feel free to return here." Illeana said, nodding lightly at him before she turned to look at Ina again.

"Yes ma'am." he said as he came to attention. He was privately glad not to be on the receiving end of that crapstorm.

Illeana spoke again, this time directed at Ina. "Ensign Khan, consider yourself relieved of your flight status and position within the VFA-364 Purple Foxes. I will also be recommending a full psychiatrical evaluation to be performed as soon as your transfer out of this station is completed. Should you pass the tests, you'll most likely go back to being an operator." She extended her hand arm towards Ina, her hand's palm facing up. "Your pilot wings, Ensign. And don't expect to be seeing them ever again."

ADM John A. McCabe
Playing war games.

Admiral McCabe's eyelids opened wider -even if minutely- as he listened to Archer refer to a couple units going through training. He wasn't making any reference as to the units' names, but his knowledge of SOAR would only mean that Archer'd obtained a 'backstage pass' somehow.

"I can only guess that you're talking about the Purple Foxes, down in Florida. Funny that you weren't be aware of their existence... given that you've just been given command of the unit." He paused for a moment, allowing for a bit more time to get his thoughts in order. "I've only one additional squadron on site, the Silver Knights, for the station's aerial defense. Most of its pilots are reservists and the like." McCabe smiled a broad smile, frowning as he continued to speak. "So I take it that your aides are trying to make you feel that you're taking over the world by multiplying the forces that have just been assigned to you, huh? Unit names and numbers always look great on paper..."

Admiral McCabe chuckled for a second, wondering how far should he go.

"And, for the record, I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about all the poor bastards that you're taking along for the ride on that flagship on yours. I'm duty-bound to inform you that Darts are nowhere near completing the second weapon-development cycle. Loading potentially unsafe experimental warhead technology is something that most would deem irresponsible while not at war, don't you agree?"

Ina Khan!
She picked up the empty beer can from the jeep.   "But Ma'am you've been drinking.  Do you think you should be making orders?"   That was close.   Ina needed to create an excuse for her finger prints to be on the can.   Oh wow.  What she going on.  This wasn't good.   Now she was being yelled at.   Poor Ina didn't understand why.   The Commander didn't see what happen between Ina and that whore who was after Yuu.  She just drove up and told Ina to report to the brig.   About to cry Ina stared at Yuu.

Next thing she even this strange guy in beach trunks was standing really close to her.  With a German name too.   Is he gonna rape me?  Then she heard some horrible news.

So that was the plan all along.  It was that Lesbian Quack who evaluated Ina when she first arrived!  Ina refused her advances and this all a plot not to harm Yuu but to deliver Ina to some 'special' evaluation.    She paniced and said the first thing on her mind.  "My body is my own!"  embarrassed at the start of a panic attack.   She tried to compose herself but instead started to cry.   "It's not right.   Why are you being mean to me.  I've done nothing wrong.   I'll hand you my wings when you admit you have a drinking problem."

Archer raised an eyebrow as McCabe went into his tirade about his units and their posting.  He knew full well which units were stationed in Pensacola and also which one was relocated before his people could get to them.

"And, for the record, I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about all the poor bastards that you're taking along for the ride on that flagship on yours. I'm duty-bound to inform you that Darts are nowhere near completing the second weapon-development cycle. Archer's expression went blank as he listened to his rival's empty warnings.  What could you possibly know about my ship you fool....you are the one on the way out...  He thought about his response carefully and then a smile reformed on his lips.

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean sir.  My ship is quite safe and a sight to behold on the battlefield.  One which I am sure you are going to see."

Archer spun his seat around, leaving his back to the monitor.  He spoke to McCabe knowing his words would cut him deep.

"As far as your secret unit...the Stalkers wont avoid me for too long.  Tell your protege that I send her well wishes."

With that, Archer closes the link and sits quietly in his chair and dwells on the launch day of his ship and the weapon's tests that will follow.  He feels that it is time to send his right hand down to Pensacola to consolidate his resources and get them up where he can keep his eyes on his enemy's movements from up close.

Jansen arrived at the O-club and sat at a table in the corner of the room.  He has a lot on his mind about all that has transpired with this Admiral Archer and his sudden acquisition of the Foxes.  Where was McCabe and what was he doing?  Jansen pulled out his PDA and typed out a message to Illeana.

TO:  LtCmdr Illeana Weissenberg
FROM:  Cmdr Jansen Graham

Illeana, I am sending this to tell you that I have arrived at the O-Club when your business with the others is taken care of.  Pass my congrats to them for me as I am unable to join them this time.  Ill see you when you arrive.  We have much to discuss.

Jansen hits send and then places his PDA on the table as the bartender comes over and takes his order.  As the man walks away, Jansen wonders if his unit is getting in over their heads.

Fangs out -- he's looking for targets on the beach!

Duane looked over to Megan and could feel the female officer trying to get up the nerve to go over to have a word with Ina and Illeana but he gave her a look that was telling her to relax.  He stood and stepped over to Yuu first and leaned in close.

"Come on L-T.  You know that whacked out bi-otch was way off base with her actions.  You were talking to Megan and she was way out of line.  You need to step up and straighten her out seeing as it is you that she is obsessed with."

Having spoken his mind, Duane moves over to where Illeana is giving Ina the once over and when she takes a break from reaming her out, speaks up.

"Boss lady...did you bring those beers for us?"

He looked over and noticed one open in Ina's hand.  His eyes bored into her as if he could burn her with his gaze.

"You didn't just waste that beer did you?  Are you tweaked that much?  That one was yours then and don't expect another...geez."

He looked back to Illeana and waited for her to answer before he would move to acquire the beers from her jeep, especially when it looks as if Ina will be riding back to base in it.

Snake kept an eye on the situation, as he takes another hit from his cigerette, "See? A bunch of children..." making sure he had them hear him as he breathes the smoke out as it leaves his lips like a wild chinese dragon, flying aimlessly as it evaporates into the atmosphere, "Damn, I guess I should've brought some clothes, you could show me the night life in this town...I have an idea," He whispers into her ear," How about we find ourselves a 'private' beach??" While saying it, he has a sly grin on his face.

Duane stands up, torn between his macho need to shove the words right back down the old man's throat and the hot piece of, well, real woman, on his arm. Dammit, why'd everyone get all whack! I had this deal SEALED! he thinks, then reaching in for the beers, he looks at the commander, "Ma'am, I ain't got no clue wha' shit's been goin' down, but mebbe we can chill all this out with a nice BEACH PARTY!!!"

Yeah, get'em all calmed down... then separate and go in for the kill!
