Galactic Timeline
« on: January 24, 2019, 12:12:04 AM »
So I thought we'd get a discussion of an updated galactic timeline going.  Not being able to speak or read Japanese, I'm not up to date on things since Frontier was having all its side media released, but I was curious if anyone's seen any place with a good take on galactic events and the overall history of how the N.U.N. charter came about in the first place?

Scan down to the "To Do List - Macross Delta Edition" thread in the Stats Discussion Board.  I updated universal information in posts as the Delta series was ongoing. That will catch you up until the first delta movie (a second film is in the works).

On that note, just watch the Delta movie.  It is notably better than the series. That is due in large part to the fact that when the writers were working on episode 4, they received word from on-high that the series was being doubled in length and they had nothing planned out for the second half.

You are amazing, thank you. Incidentally, are you familiar with my Chaerilidae game at all?

You're welcome.

I am afraid that I do not know anything about your game. I have only been a member for three years. Sketchley and I were pretty much the only people around during that time.

Totally my fault, not going to shirk it. A lot of the improvements I am doing now I should have figured out back then. My only explanation is that I have been going through extreme medical and personal issues that became extreme in the last 3 years but started around the time I reacquired a decent domain name. The long and the short is that I have a chronic disease called fibromyalgia that cause constant pain among many other things. Up until last year I was on the very last medication that provided any relief, but the mental cost was significant, and the medication reached toxic points for me. That was when my wife left me, because 3 years ago I had gone on medical leave, but was denied disability. I have lost my house, all my possessions, my career, my dogs, everything, and my wife. On the plus side in the past year of facing my disease unmedicated, my creativity has returned and I can find SOME focus through the pain. I still have no income except for what I earn through my D&D livestream patreon while I appeal my disability case, but the $18 a month is enough to keep the MRG open, and I just completed an odd job that netted me the money for this year's domain registration. So we are good.

The Point The Chaerilidae continuation is definitely coming. I have 3 confirmed returning players. I am still rebuilding the site's functions but am trying to bring back as many old members as possible, and will be postimg game info soon. I wanted to know if you want to know more about it.

Yeah, well, Iiiiiii burnt my brownies last night.

Sure, tell me about the game. I make no promises, though. I have, like, five games going on already .

So just got all the way through the thread you suggest I read.  Excellent bits of info.  I'll be having some basic game info up probably as soon as I actually wake up from some real sleep.

Sorry, full description is coming for new players, I promise! Its been a crazy busy week (relative) for me and I am behind on a bunch of game related stuff, but I intend to make a post about it soon. Going to potentially be room for 4 to 6 pilot characters and 2 to 3 EWO/RIO characters, with players having options of playing one or both types. So far players confirmed returning are a mix of both!

Just making sure that you did not forget.

Hm.  I do have this not-too-bright Zolan farm-girl-turned-traveling-musician that I have been meaning to do something with.

Might have to tweak the concept slightly. By not too bright do you mean naive? The reason why I ask is because Chaerilidae itself in universe was supposed to be the Elite top 24 pilots and 12 EWOs of the graduating class of over 500 pilots of that generation. A Top Gun, if you will. That said, it doesn't make the concept impossible to work in or tweak. There would be a slight continuity issue RE Zolan, but I will give it some thought how to work it in (There's a conversation in a previous thread establishing there weren't any other Zola aboard, more or less, and I have to double check the language and get a little creative)

No, by not-too-bright, I mean that she was kind of a dumbass. Think: backwater hick.

I only used her a few times in an MRC test run thread so that they could see if I knew how to write.

In her case, she tried to enlist, but she was rejected. So, she took up music and set about traveling from fleet to fleet, panhandling for cash and rides (and being a stowaway when she didn't have enough money to get a legitimate ticket). Not having any Zolans onboard your group would not be contradicted since her galactic hobo self could have just ended up there during her random travels.

Ah, ok, sorry, I didn't explain that there weren't any civilians on this particular ship, at least not yet. But I might be able to come up with a reason for her presence aboard ship by Magister's start, mostly because of the events that will happen during the transition between the two games. Hmm, some things for me to think about! Anyway, full background for Magister is still in the workds, and you haven't been forgotten! =) Thanks for poking me to let me know that you are still interested. The returning players are currently getting back up to speed in the 3S collab board, and you are welcome to join the live game q/a collab board in discord if you like.

Cool. I am sure that would be a colorful headache for you.  :P

Ah, Discord.  I know of that.  I never really used it because I have neither a microphone nor a cellphone. Most of the time I have seen people mention it in the past couple of years, it has been something along the lines of "I don't like chatrooms.  Let's use Discord!"
