Description:
Amalia is small, even for an already short people. Her body is toned from a life of hard work, but she is not what could be described as muscular. She has large, lumpy ears. Her hair is long, usually tied with a singular ribbon near the end of its length causing it to be wide at the shoulder, and taper near the small of her back. Her bright bangs are puffy, and no matter what she tries she can never get them to lay down.



Birth Place: Zola, rural area

Family Relationships:

Father: Donato Bachmeier (63), Farmer. The head of the family. Donato inherited the farm from his parents. He was injured in an accident prior to Amalia’s birth. Unable to do the labor-intensive work, he primarily keeps the books in balance, and organizes sales of the harvested goods to distributors.

Mother: Kirima Bachmeier (66), Homemaker. She keeps the household in order. While the family is out taking care of the crops and the seed, Kirima makes sure that there is food on the table, and clean clothing to wear. She patches rips in both cloth and people alike.

Siblings:

Brother: Asher Bachmeier (44), Farmer. The eldest of Amalia’s siblings, Asher is responsible for the majority of the heavy work on the farm. He also dictates the assignments of the children in the extended family. His family is set to take ownership of the land after his parents.

Brother: Stefan Bachmeier (41), Farmer. He does a good chunk of the sowing and harvesting on the farm. He plows when necessary.

Sister: Soley Reiniger (34): The mechanic in the family. When not working the fields, Soley takes care of the equipment. She repairs, patches, and jury-rigs the equipment in to more-or-less working order.

Brother: Aaron Bachmeier (27): Fisherman. Aaron left the farm in his teenage years. He works as a net-fisherman, trolling the coastline and streams throughout much of the year.

Several Nieces and Nephews, most of which work on the family farm.


Personality: Amalia is a bubbly, happy person. She rarely feels depressed unless something bad happens. She is friendly to pretty much everyone. She treats everyone as though they are her friends, even complete strangers. She is also inquisitive about things that she does not understand, which encompasses a broad spectrum of topics.


Hobbies:
She likes to playing her instrument, both for herself and for other people. She panhandles for this reason. Also because she likes to eat.
 Amalia enjoys taking pictures of places that she visits and selfies of her in those places. She collects the images in to Amilia’s Picture Journal.


Background:

Amalia comes from a small agricultural community on Zola. She grew up amid the farmers and ranchers in a secluded portion of the planet. A little farm girl herself, she knew little of the galaxy as a whole. High technological equipment and higher education was limited to the big cities, and the alien outposts. She rarely saw things beyond standard farm equipment. The majority of those machines were powers by people or animals. Most of what she knew revolved around crops and the best seasons for planting and harvesting them.

When she was ten, Amalia went with her family to a nearby city. 'Nearby' being a relative term as it was still quite distant from where she lived. She stood in awe of the sights that she witnesses. There were large machines, spaceworthy vessels, and well-lit shops that supplied food that she did not have to make for herself. It was marvelous.

It was during this excursion that she had her first run-in with a non-Zolan. She drew the attention of three human boys who had seen her patchwork manner of dress. They pointed, and made fun of her. They shoved her, and laughed at her. Amalia was small even for one of her own people. She lacked the strength to defend herself properly. The boys pushed her down, and mocked her for being a poor country girl. The whole mess was a quick, and over in under a pair of minutes. The humiliation lingered much longer. Amalia picked herself up from the gravelly trail. Amid her tears, cursed the boys and the embarrassment they had given her. She vowed to never be bullied again.

Amalia returned to her farm. She stayed there until she was old enough to register for one of the alien universities. She filled out the paperwork, took the admittance exams, and failed; she simply was not versed enough in anything outside of her backwater country life to get in.

She returned to her community, again embarrassed by the more advanced alien culture. She worked the fields for another year. Afterward, she returned to the city once again. This time she signed up for the defense force. One did not need to be a genius to hold a stun pistol.

As it turned out, being a genius would have helped. Amalia did not last long in the military. She never made it out of training. She was removed as being an unworthy cadet. Not wanting to return home in disgrace yet again, the Zolan snuck aboard a cargo freighter.

 Hiding among the containers and stealing food after hours, she made the journey to starport. There, she found a discarded guitar. It was in poor condition, there was little reason that anyone would want to keep it. She did, though. She took it with her when she stowed away on a deporting ship. She attempted to teach herself to play the instrument. That was directly responsible for her getting caught. She was deposited at the next port. Undiscouraged, Amalia hid herself in a stack of crates until she was loaded on to a new vessel. Such became her primary means of visiting the stars. And spaceports.

So I want you to choose skills and break them down into a list for me of skills you'd think she'd use daily, every 4 days, and every 7 days.  I also need you to pick skills that would either be easy to maintain or are of a nature that not doing them over long periods of time doesn't contribute to skill degradation.  Lastly I need you to make a list of skills that while being a hobo travelling the stars would degrade over time because of lack of use.

Daily Use Skill
Used daily, such that skill and expertise would be improved daily.  *Photography may be included in this as its perfectly reasonable for an artist to constantly improve their eye.

Skills Used Half the Week
Used frequently enough that while the person is not improving everytime they use the skill, there's some improvement every week they go about their life.

Skills Used Once a Week
Skills used infrequently or which are less likely to show massive improvement from frequent use.

Easy Maintain Skills
Like riding a bike...or more accurately how to read, cook, etc..., that wouldn't atrophy just because you didn't use them every week of your life.

Atrophy Skills
Skills that require a lot of practice to maintain and that over time a person becomes less precise with.
