"Sorry guess I've been analyzing this more then I thought"

That doesn't surprise me Jenny thought to herself From what I've seen so far, you're not just a pretty face.

She took the opportunity to fill her water bottle whilst Lance used the vending machine.

I wasn't expecting him to be so upfront about things. Does he think I've asked because of something to do with Keiko and he trying to reassure me that it's being covered? But if that's the case, why didn't he just say?

"I appreciate the honesty Lieutenant, where I come from you get used to it and then in this rarefied atmosphere you tend to get people who don't shoot straight like you do, in either sense of the word!" She responded with a grin.

She'd not really expected to end up in a situation where she felt responsible for her RIO's safety both in and out of the cockpit and she was still very much trying to work out whether she'd do that better by physical threat or trying to build bridges. She'd made sure to challenge a few of the other crew in the gym, so that everyone had an idea of her current deadlift. She hoped that would focus a few minds if they were ever intending to cause her trouble. However she knew full well that you couldn't have that as your go to strategy. Cassel might let you get away with some brig time for giving someone a black eye, but probably only the once. Noting that Lance seemed in better spirits, she kept the tone light and added.

"So, hope I'm not one of the topics for discussion, I'd rather be known for my soft and fluffy demeanor!"

Pillow! Seriously, that's the best hazing they could come up with, really!

"What brings you out to the range?  Don't see many pilots or EWOs here unless it's a mandatory training,"

Jenny applied the safety and began walking over to hand her weapon in as well.

"Not all fights are going to be in a VF Sir, spent most of my time with an old bolt action rifle growing up, need to bring the pistol work up to scratch."

Handing the gun over to the quartermaster, she added "I couldn't help but notice the mood around here, it's concerning that we're in this position so early on. What are your thoughts?"

She hoped that Lance would be willing to provide some insight on the scenes she'd glimpsed by the pool, but she'd deliberately given him an open question to see where that took things. She'd used this type of question before as often people would ramble and reveal interesting information they'd withhold if the conversation had more structure.

Lance, I had a look and couldn't find out what Lucky said to Keiko, any chance of a link or a quick summary?

I'm fine either way if Keiko knows about Jenny roughing up someone in training, or if Jenny waited for an opportunity to take the other cadet down a peg or two away from anyone else. It works either way, I've left it open as to whether she got caught.

Jenny got back to her room after everything had finished. At least they'd have a little bit of downtime before they'd go back on duty.

She went through a few stretches, making sure everything was in order after having been cooped up in the cockpit. The workout yesterday had been taxing, but she'd paced herself and come through without having to really push herself to the limit, which hadn't been the case for a few of the others, who she expected would be hurting this morning. There had been some sort of altercation at the pool which she hadn't been paying close attention to, but she'd seen no reason to get involved. No blows had been thrown, so there was a decent chance it would all blow over. At least she hadn't seen anyone trying to give Keiko a hard time, one person who had pushed their luck during training had found out that there were certain joint locks that Jenny knew full well were VERY painful and didn't leave a bruise.

Mind you, that all supposed that things wouldn't fester during their voyage or come to the fore if they were put under more pressure through the intensive training regime she was sure would continue going forward. Didn't matter how talented you were or how hard you worked, everyone had their pressure points and it was just another thing to be conscious of. As she went down this line of thought, she had to smile, if you messed up milking a cow, they may give you a kick, but at least they didn't talk back at the same time!

Whilst she considered just getting some rest, she was still pretty wide awake and to make the most of it she wanted to get a bit of firearms practice in and a quick session in the gym so she'd have a chance to "hit the books" before turning in. She knew that it was well worth the time trying to analyse the data from the training mission before the formal extended debrief. It wasn't quite the exact saying, but Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance was something that Jenny had come to understand through her training. Some people could get by if put on the spot by an instructor, but not her, the times she hadn't done the work, it had been mercilessly exposed.

Slipping into a training vest and trousers, she headed down to the range, checking out a sidearm and working methodically through the safety procedures. She was surprised to hear that there was at least one other person with the same idea, and getting closer she saw it was Lieutenant Callaeros.

He seemed to be working methodically through a clip on a long rifle, taking his time on each shot. Jenny went a few rows to the side to give him the space to concentrate, then put on her gloves and sent a target out to a sensible range. She varied the shots between one and two handed stances, as you'd never know what type of situation might arise that would require a pilot to draw a sidearm and have to fire in anger. Her two handed grouping was pretty consistent, clumped around the centre of mass, otherwise things spread out more than she'd have liked.

As she saw Lance remove his ear defenders, she nodded and simply said "Lieutenant"

Also, just as a quick note, I'm going to be tied up for the next few days, so if I can get on Discord properly I can answer short messages, but unlikely to have access to a PC for any length of time between about 5pm GMT tonight and 12pm GMT on Monday.

I've posted up my previous sheet, will change things around if needed. Just to confirm, Keiko and Jenny were paired together as RIO and Pilot respectively, it would be good to have them start IC in the same location, bearing in mind I'm just flat out rusty on everything (PBP, Macross, Palladium, etc) so it would be good to have a nice easy start :)

Character Information:
Character's Name: Jennifer Adrasteia aka Jenny
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 65kgs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Family Origin: Human, Caucasian, genetically of Greek heritage

Description:
Jenny is a young woman of short stature but stocky build. She has spent most of her life in the open air doing a variety of physical jobs. She looks somewhat weatherbeaten, she is tanned but nothing like you'd find from a holiday or a trip to a tanning salon. She always seems reluctant to sit still, as if she has energy to burn. Whilst she is something of a tomboy, with short dark hair, she is plain rather than being either particularly attractive or unattractive.

Birth Place:
Girtablilu: This planet is the most stable and hospitable in the system.  Vast plains and savannah's cover the surface, with the planet's near earth like rotational speed and mild seasons giving the planet an almost paradisic allure.  Girablilu was the first planet colonized in the 18 Scorpii system after Buthridas was made secure, and has maintained a relaxed and rural development structure through planned social development.  Girtablilu is the primary producer of lumber, organic food, and luxury items in the system.  The citizens of the planet view themselves as enlightened and hard workers, though the rest of the system thinks them lucky and easy layabouts.  During the initial colonization of the system and the chartering of the constitution, both the Zendreadi and Human representatives from the colony fleet agreed that they each wished to preserve their blood lines and unique cultures.  As a result you will find that only fifteen percent of Girtablilu's population is more than 1/4 Zendreadi.

Background:
The Adrasteia's have always been subsistence cattle farmers, a life Jenny grew up with and started working herself once she was old enough. Her family always moved with the herd, moving hundreds of miles at a time across the plains. As a result, Jenny's schooling was often interrupted, and school materials were always in short supply. Her mother, having six children with little more than nine years between them, managed to run a home school with various materials begged and borrowed from their travels. Jenny always made sure she got chance to read all the books she could lay her hands on.

Life was rough and tumble, she has two older brothers who are now aiding their father full time, and she was the first member of the family to want to do something else with her life other than go cattle herding, although her brother Philip actually beat her into training. Her parents were uncertain about how to handle their "wayward" daughter, and they were worried about whether the two younger children would also look to leave when they were old enough. Jenny managed to win them over, a combination of stubbornness and hard work managing to get her into pilot training. Once she was there, she very quickly got dubbed "Farmgirl" for her lack of social niceties and generally blunt and honest approach to things. However, anyone that got to know her found that she was a good friend in a crisis, and could certainly act with more decorum than most people believed her capable of.

She has always made sure to track down her family during holiday and leave, and goes back to put a hard shift in, from her perspective to stop her going soft, but also to show her parents that she hasn't forgotten her roots. She has made sure to go the extra mile to make sure her parents have never had cause to regret their decision to let her go, and she has also tiptoed around her younger siblings so that they can decide for themselves which way they want to go. Her older brother Philip is also in the military, but as an aircraft engineer, and they have been fortunate enough to progress through their respective careers in reasonably close proximity. The two youngest siblings have attended college, but are still deciding what to do with their lives, though neither looks likely to join the military, much to the relief of the entire family.

Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.): 13 - Jenny has a good mind and works hard at the academic side of her training.

Mental Endurance (M.E.): 12 - Jenny considers herself stable and well balanced, but she does have a few triggers for her temper.

Mental Affinity (M.A.): 12 - Whilst not the life and soul of the party, Jenny is perfectly pleasant and has survived all the verbal rough and tumble that comes with being part of a large family.

Physical Strength (P.S.): 21 - Years of doing farm work combined with a commitment to her personal fitness whilst doing her training has left Jenny with a powerful physique.

Physical Prowess (P.P.): 13 - A steady hand and a methodical approach characterise Jenny's preferred method of flying, rather than relying on the hair trigger twitch reflexes more gifted pilots might possess.

Physical Endurance (P.E.): 16 - Jenny has been referred to as being "tough as old boots", which managed to irritate her and give her a sense of pride that her tenacity doesn't go unnoticed. She enjoys distance running as a hobby.

Physical Beauty (P.B.): 10 - A bit of a plain Jane as far as her looks go, she's always been a bit of a tomboy and doesn't have the sort of feminine curves that guys seem to dig.

Speed (SPD): 25 - Being relatively short of stature and having a lot of muscle designed for strength rather than speed means that Jenny is built for going the distance, rather than for the short sprint.

I'm failing at modern technology, I seem to be able to read the Discord channel but can't post. I've sent Lance a friend request but can someone give me a hand?

I think Jennifer "Djinn" Adrasteia would be my only character, as although she had a brother, I wasn't sure if he would be a GM-NPC instead.

I'd posted in the last thread but didn't appear to get very far, so can't really say that I have any goals at this stage other than getting back into the swing of things.

I've been a poster/lurker over on RPGnet under the same moniker, so that's always a good way to get hold of me, although I spend less time talking RPGs and more time arguing about Brexit at present, nice to put that to one side for a bit!

I think there was talk of floating a game, I'm certainly up for it if others are as well, would be an honour and a pleasure to game with you all again.

Hey everyone, just checking in :) In all this time, can't believe we still haven't got a 2nd Edition of the Palladium rules or the ability to watch any legitimate English versions of most of the Macross series, some things never change :D
