OOC: Rejoice! I found some spare time!

BIC:
"Shit!" Mjuiri exclaimed as threat indicators light up and the HUD mark around 30 missiles heading their way. She wasted no time getting on the comm. "Missiles inbound. Go evasive. We will hightail it out of here. Pray the Nori is where we left her at xxx, yyy, zzz. Do NOT engage, keep our readings low and we may lose them when we hit the asteroids."

She didn't really want to put the coordinates of the Nori over the comms but Colonel Kim had to know where to head if they where separated. They would just have to trust in the encryption. And of course hope Nori hadn't been discovered and had to leave its location. If things got much worse though, they would have to risk sending a high-powered signal out in pretty much every direction hoping to get a hold of the Nori.

That said Mjuiri broke off from the formation, spreading out to see what missiles headed where and prepared to loose them. Preferably positioning herself so any missiles she dodged would have a hard time reacquiring any of her teammates.

Actions(fighter)
1) Comms
2) Adjust position to dodge missiles
3) Dodge missiles (use 2 countermeassures. If unable to discern missile targetting use 2 flare and 2 chaff)
4-9) Full speed towards the "safety" of the Asteroids towards where they left the Nori. / Dodge as needed

Free) Any sort of defensive stuff I can get away with =P

Here we go, something I KNOW I can do.  Zed abandons his attempts at communicating with the Nori and immediately sets to targeting the missile volley coming at him with a volley of four SES Booster Pack Micro Missiles, firing as soon as he has a lock and immediately going evasive (dodging).  A glance at his passive sensors and his heart receives another jolt of adrenaline.

Too many to face off with.  Gotta get clear, and fast.  Still dodging any incoming missiles and releasing countermeasures, Zed's mind register's Mjuiri's orders and he vectors himself towards the rendezvous with the Nori.  His body presses into the pilot's chair from the sudden acceleration as he pushes his throttle to near red line.  He's all eyes, ears, and touch as he evasively flies to his first hope of extraction.

Edit
The debris field should be coming up soon.  Gotta slow down...  As Zed dodges around, nearing the debris and asteroid field, he decreases his throttle to a level his piloting ability is capable of manuevering around the obstacles without too much danger.
/edit

Actions:
1.) Target incoming missiles with a volley of four SES pack micro missiles and fire.
2.) Dodge incoming missiles
3.) Use countermeasures and dodge missiles.
4.) Increase throttle to red near red line (say around 98% of maximum safety
5.) Dodge any threats
6.) Dodge any threats
7.) Dodge any threats
8.) Decelerate when needed for 'safe' flying in the debris/asteroid field.

Jung bit his teeth hard. Loss of a teammate who is extremely fluent in the Z-language plus a person
who was trained in dealing intelligence was definitely not good. AND, it seemed like the Wraiths were
spotted from that giant carrier, as the attack toward the team was detected.

Uninvited party, eh? Seems like they're out of refreshments and are angry toward us.
Jung understood that the incoming missiles were definitely not micro-missiles, but at least something
that has a larger blast radius. He instantly figured out that the radius will easily wipe out a tightly
formed formation, and the Wraiths were a perfect example.

Jung was just about to intercept the incoming threat with aggressive responce when he heard the orders.
"Go evasive....Do NOT engage, keep our readings low and we may lose them when we hit the asteroids."
Orders are orders... And slipping away would also be a way, too. He remembered playing a video
game where one had to dodge immense amount of incoming missiles and/or bullets. The difference of it with
real life was that there is hardly any second chance, especially in this kind of situations.

Jung slowly blinked his eye, and started his evasive maneuvers. He focused his eyes on the front, while
banking out of the formation. He hoped that the Nori was still somewhere around where it was...

Actions:
1) Break out of formation.
2) Accelerate while deploying a short burst of flares.
3) Dodge incoming missiles, while also dispatching flares.

Free) Dodge & race toward the Nori.

Vick Wake-up next morning with a mouth feeling like pasta who had stay in cold water too much time. Without the water. Of course, it was all in his bladder. With much difficulties, he make-it to the bathroom after five minutes of efforts to do fives meters, but he finally be able to stand up. After the delivrance of using the bathroom facilities, he remark that a shower was in the bathroom, and that he smell... well, not good. The water rolling on him and the press on the soap was very good, and he done what much of people does in the shower: sing. Accoustic was horrible, but his voice get back in tone. He was felling good. he finally get out of the shower and scrub himself. Then, with a towel arround his knees, he wander in the room in a quest to find some cloath, still singning "Mamboleo" of Elissa.

Orbit of Elysium

"Missiles inbound. Go evasive. We will hightail it out of here. Pray the Nori is where we left her at xxx, yyy, zzz. Do NOT engage, keep our readings low and we may lose them when we hit the asteroids."

?Understood,? came Lt. Colonel Kim?s prompt reply.

Kavryn unleashes flares, 2 missiles explode in them, and 3 are distracted.  Cassel?s missiles are dodged by the missiles.  He isn?t able to lose them with a dodge.  His flares cause 2 to explode, 1 to be distracted, and the remaining 2 are still locked on.  He manages to dodge both at the last second ? one scrapes along the surface of his VF, with an alarming sound, but doesn?t explode!  It continues on, unaware at how close it came to eating its intended target.  3 of the missiles targeting Jung explode in the flares he releases, and only 1 of the missiles is distracted.  He dodges the remaining two missiles.

The Guantanamo Carrier, Nori, flies out of the asteroid belt.  Asteroids explode against its hull in showers of rock and dust.  The ship immediately fires devastating anti-ship laser shots at the almost three times longer New Giant Carrier.  Explosions erupt across the upper surface of the Varuta ship.

The Fz-109 squads, which were in the processes of making structured formations by squad, break into unorganized chaos.  It is a couple of seconds before the squadron leaders regain order, and they begin ascending (if one can say such a thing in space,) in small 2 and 4-jet flights towards the Nori.

The Nori itself flies a lot more nimbly than a ship of its size and shape suggests, as it heads towards the Black Wraiths and roughly through the leading edges of the cloud of Fz-109.  The retractable missile launchers and laser turrets of the Nori unleash destructive furry on the cloud of Fz-109.  The real destructive weight, however, is coming from the gun pods of some 75 to 85 VF-11C, stationed at airlocks, launch bays, and holding on with rope to the surface of the Nori.  Scores of Fz-109 are damaged, and more than a handful are outright destroyed.

The New Giant Carrier, having been taken by surprise, only manages a smattering of shots at the Nori.  The Nori takes only one or two hits, as it avoids most of the shots, and the PPB of the ship absorbs the majority of the few that actually hit.

The Nori?s captain barks orders at the Black Wraiths, ?head into the lower rear dock!  Your head count is 5??  Not waiting for a response, the Captain turns and barks orders at his navigation officer.  ?We fold once they?re all aboard!?

Lt. Colonel replies, ?count of 5!?

The Black Wraiths angle onto an intercept vector that will take them into the lower rear dock of the ship.

Scores of Fz-109 keep pace with the Nori as it rockets out of the cloud of Fz-109 and explosions.  The Black Wraiths are able to ignore any threat by the Fz-109, as the gun pods of the VF-11C stationed on the hull of the Nori either shoot down any Fz-109 that are moving to attack the Black Wraiths, or any munitions fired at them.  However, everyone gets more than a few close calls.

The Black Wraiths fly into the giant maw of the rear lower dock.  They all immediately have to transform to gerwalk and apply strong breaking thrusters to prevent themselves from becoming paste on the forward wall of the dock.

Almost immediately after entering, the ship enters a space fold.

The Black Wraiths land inside of a hanger inside of the rear lower dock, and disembark once the hanger is pressurized.  The waiting time allows everyone to calm down and collect themselves after such a harrowing egress from the planet.

The Lt. Colonel retrieves the intelligence data from the 5th (unnamed) member of the squad, and immediately heads out in search of Commander Yoshimoto and the captain of the ship.  The Black Wraiths head into the pilot?s lounge next to the hanger, as they are unsure of what to do next, know they are not dismissed, and are expecting a mission debriefing.

A few minutes later, the ship defolds back into normal space.  About 5 minutes later, the ship returns to space fold.

A few minutes after that, Lt. Colonel Kim and Commander Yoshimoto come into the pilot?s lounge.  Commander Yoshimoto is visibly happy, and he claps his hands together a couple of times.

?Congratulations!  We?re reviewing the info that was retrieved, and a copy of it has been transmitted to UN Intelligence on LV-426.  Once we return their, in roughly 5 and a half hours, you are all free to spend the night on the town.  Drink all you want, and stay up the entire night if you want.  But assemble at 07:30.  I suspect that the ship we will board will leave at 08:00.  We expect 1 or 2 days travel, so pack light.  This?ll be the real deal.  Taking it to our targets home??

Smiling, Commander Yoshimoto exits the room, presumably to re-examine the intelligence, and begin planning the next mission of the Black Wraiths.

Lt. Colonel Kim clears her throat to get everyone?s attention.  Her face is a mixture of release, elation, and sadness.  ?Black Wraiths? we did it.  We?ve found the enemy?s base.  However? it came at a price?? she gives everyone a disposable cup, and pours some strong, very high quality Soju into it.

Once everyone has a cup, she raises her.  ?To 1st Lieutenants T?tul and Kriwalyk.  Your brave and valiant sacrifice not only allowed us to complete the mission, but allowed us life!?

She drinks, and gasps, along with everyone else, at the strength of the beverage.  (Its 45% alcohol, and very smooth.  No burning of the throat, but very warming.)

After giving a minute of silence for their fallen comrades, Kim speaks again.  ?Black Wraiths? I suspect tonight will be our last night to party for some time.  We must party out of respect for the sacrifice of our friends!  Therefore, you are ordered to sleep the entire ride back to LV-426, and not one of you is supposed to sleep until after we assemble tomorrow morning!?  She sidesteps closer to Jung and gently elbows his ribs, ?unless you are sleeping with someone.?  She shoots a wink at Cassel.

?To your beds!?

Same Time
Surface of LV-426

?Paging 1st Lt. Hemingway.  Lt. Hemingway?? the gentle female voice echoed threw the corridors of the medical section of the Einstein Ship Columbia, parked on the top of the Terraforming Tower in the middle of a fast becoming green, valley.  It was raining off and on in the area, and the former desert landscape beyond the steep cliffs of the valley were fast becoming vegetated.  There was a rumour that there was a Protoculture fountain of life buried underneath the Terraforming Tower, but any checks that Hemingway had performed on the ?construction and restoration? operation underneath the tower had met with security clearances above her level.

She responded to the page and was told that 1st Lt. T?tul, well, his clone, had been killed during the latest SCAD mission.  Hearing the news reminded her that as much as she enjoyed scientific research and practicing medicine, she really wanted to be out there on missions with SCAD, and not stuck in the fast-becoming-dreary confines of the Einstein ship in the RESPCAE sub-section of the Black Wraiths.  She hadn?t flown a VF in ages, and was itching to get back into the pilots seat.

The thoughts only briefly fluttered in her head, as the officer continued his briefing.  ?? prepare to transfer his memories at 06:45 tomorrow morning.  The Black Wraiths are returning in about 5 hours, and the squad is under orders to party tonight.  However, you must be sober, and in attendance of the memory transfer into the latest T?tul clone, as you?ll be monitoring him during the next Black Wraiths mission, commencing tomorrow at 07:30.?

1st Lt. Hemingway is told to get some rest before tonight, and tomorrow morning, and dismissed from active duty until 06:15 tomorrow.

Levi and Dempsey sing to restore themselves to peak ability.  Dempsey is discharged from the hospital soon after with a clean bill of health.??He is once more amazed with the restorative powers of spiritia.  In just a few hours of singing with another spiritia warfare specialist, he went from a sore and broken old man, to a rejuvenated and vigorous young man!  Only his tired vocal cords caused him any discomfort.  Given his previous sore state, they were almost painless in comparison.

LV-426

The Nori defolds in high orbit, and transfers to low orbit.  The Black Wraiths leave the ship in a transport shuttle and quickly head down the gravity well to the planet?s surface.  On final approach to the landing fields near the terraforming tower they are met with a light rain and light cloud cover.

Soon after returning to their rooms in their barracks, they unpack, shower, and ready themselves for a night of partying.  Their rooms are like old friends, but even though it?s only been a few days since they were last in them, it feels like months or even years.

The Black Wraiths all gather at Ike Station, the one closest to their barracks, just across a large and growing pond.  It?s been some days since many of them have seen each other, and weeks since they last gathered together in one place as a group.

Lt. Commander Kim is present, but she waves any looks for leadership, ?it?s your night.  You?re the bosses.?

OCC note: this is most likely the last chance to do serious character RP until the end of the game!  The pace from here on out is going to increase.  Depending on the posting rate and/or the way the character interaction goes, we could stretch this out over two weeks.  Feel free to post as many times as you want.

Wednesday Lunchtime, April 13th, 2050

Mjuiri didn't know what to make of Yoshimoto's praise. Of course she understood his happiness at finally getting somewhere with their larger mission, but it was hard to feel joyous over a successful mission when they lost 2 members in the process.

Apparently Lt.Colonel Kim felt the same way as she held her little speech and shared a drink with everyone. At the end of Kim's speech Mjuiri mumbled a silent "forever remembered" before downing her drink.

Leaving for bed as per Kim's orders Mjuiri briefly reflected over not having to report to Kim's office as she had so acidly suggested during their mission. It didn't matter however, since Mjuiri was quite happy with not having to deal with that. Her thoughts where busy enough with sorting out what she was supposed to feel and not feel in regards to their two lost squadmates. Kriwalyk was a recent addition and Mjuiri didn't know her, but she still ought to feel sad over her death. Instead all she could feel was indifference. Just another death. It bugged her that she felt more sorry for the loss of T'tul, given that it wasn't the original T'tul logic would have her see him as expendable but somehow she couldn't quite manage that. Clones... expendable clones... This is sick!

LV-426

"Well its surely not everyday we are all gathered like this. Anyone know a good place to get drunk together?" Mjuiri commented to the group at large while studying the transit map. "I can't wrap my head round this thing. Its 2050 and they still can't make comprehensible transit maps. Anyone able to figure out how to get to Paris?"

Wednesday Lunchtime, April 13th, 2050

The thought of re-cloning T'tul and the fact that she couldn't access information on construction and/or restoration work on the tower only made Hemmingway want to be back out on a mission. She couldn't help but to morbidly and bitterly wonder when the UNG might resort to re-cloning fallen soldiers. She felt sorrow for fallen soldiers of the UNG, and believed that such a practice would make political leaders view all soldiers as expendable.

After the briefing, Hemmingway got something to eat, took a short nap and mediated for awhile after waking up. She finally got around to getting changed into some nice casual clothing for the night's social outing.

Wednesday Night, April 13th, 2050

The doctor was tempted to comment about not being allowed to get drunk when Mjuri brought it up, but decided that might dampen the mood. Besides she could always drink one glass of an alcoholic beverage really slowly, and wait for everyone else to get drunk. She figured none of them would be able to recall if she got drunk or not afterwards.

As for getting to Paris, she briefly combed her memory to see if she knew how to get to it. She might have been stuck on the Columbia for vast amounts of time, but she did get a rare few chances to check out parts of the settlement on LV-426. After a few seconds she felt confident enough in her ability to attempt to get the group to Mjuri's suggested spot.

"I think I have a pretty good idea of how to get us to Paris?"
After infiltrating Xavier's lair, disguised as Xorm, you shot him, popped yourself up on drugs, destroyed New York, then we beat you up and Wolverine chopped off your head. Oh, and you killed Jeane.
