Welcome to the VIFA-3 Black Wraiths.

An RPG set in the Macross universe in 2067, but taking place during all points of the timeline.  This game shouldn't be considered canon, but it is based off of canon events.

Joining
I like to have a large amount of character interaction in my games. As such, prospective players should be good writers that play off of the details provided by other players and the GM.  If I am unfamiliar with your work, I will ask for both a referral and the completion of a short test.

In addition, there are certain obligations and restrictions attributed to playing in the game:
  • The obligations are that the player promises to post on a once-a-week basis and others, as outlined elsewhere amongst the links provided below.
  • The restrictions in joining are usually, but not limited to, having to wait until a suitable time in the story to join. (Example: if the squad is in the midst of a top-secret mission, the new player must wait until the squad has returned from the mission.)

JOINING TERMS
By agreeing to play and posting in character in my games, you (the player) agree to abide by the terms of the game and by the following simple policies:

   1. You will not violate the MRG's terms of agreement and policies of use.
   2. When the GM makes a post, it is final. Arguing over it may prove to be futile.
   3. Submissions for changes in the rules, interpretations of the rules (of Palladium Books RPG engine, MRG modifications to them and the house rules of the game) and weaponry load-outs of either the characters or their vehicles are allowed and acceptable for discussion. However, the discussion must occur in an OOC board and the outcome of any discussion will not come into effect until the current combat/mission has concluded.
   4. OOC statements longer then one sentence must always be made in the appropriate OOC thread.
   5. Acceptance that though the events occurring in the game are a part of the larger MRG universe, that they and the house rules and terms of the game are limited to the game.
   6. If you leave the game, I reserve the right to write out your character in a manner that fits with the current story line. I will, however, try to respect the wishes of the player.
   7. Anything said in character or done during the game does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the GM, but if there is something that is not to your liking, contact me immediately.

Quickie combat reminders:

1) reduce an object's SDC or MDC to 0, it is disabled or otherwise rendered unusuable.  Double the SDC or MDC to destroy it completely (ie: limbs can be used to block micro-missiles.  The limb may be destroyed, but the rest of the mecha is OK.)

          • SDFN-08 Fokker undergoes a series of space folds to find a weapon that will defeat the Black Samba's energy barrier.
          • Black Wraiths members who remained on the SDFN-08 after refusing to go on the mission are incarcerated and interrogated as spies against the state.  Said members are later cleared of charges and released.
          • Mission to capture a Fold Bug to harvest more Super Fold Quartz.
          • Black Wraiths members under attack by Black Samba, are rescued.
          • Cassel captured by the Black Wraiths.  Appears at their secret asteroid base before disappearing from the timeline.



          2067 era:
            2060
            • Mission to study Fold Bugs commences with the launching of the 125th Large Scale Research Fleet.
            2064
            • 125th Fleet successfully track a Fold Bug, but are unable to capture it with existing technology.  Research on new technology commences.
            2065
            • Development of technology that not only allows the capture of a Fold Bug in Super Dimension space, but also the transport and containment in normal space.
            2066
            • First Fold Bug Captured
            • Super Fold Quartz discovered in Fold Bug.  Research commences.
            2067
            • Deployment of experimental Super Dimension Fold Drive, allowing time and alternate reality travel
            • Development of string oscilation displacement technology, allowing exploration of time and alternate realities.
            • Assembly of the Black Wraiths 2 for alternate reality time exploration and manipulation missions.
            • Discovery that Sheik Yer-bootii is altering time for his benefit.

            Alternate Reality History: TMNT Reality
            2010:
            June
            - mutations and death from the irradiation of Earth and flawed cloning crop up with alarming frequency.  An attempt is made to stabilize the human population by including animal DNA in the cloning process.  Over the next few decades, the number of mutants grows until there are virtually no human-like Terrans in the galaxy.  The majority of the Zentraadi prefer to remain large-size and separate from the mutants, because they fear that it is a communicable disease.

            2057:
            (before) June
            - the planet Messiah 025 is discovered in the M55NGC6909 Planetary Cluster by the Macross Frontier, when it came near the system for resource collection.  The first flight of the prototype of the VF-25 is on the planet.

            2058:
            October
            - the Nuclides defeat rogue Zentraadi who were attacking Zentraadi refugees that they had been sent to rescue, at great cost because of bad intel and planning.

            December - As the NUNS Forces in the 125th Fleet never hold a rememberance ceremony, let alone publicize the sacrifice of so many brave NUNS personnel, the members of the Nuclides quit and join the MSG, a recently established civilian military provider, which has promised them much better terms and conditions.

            2059:
            January
            - the 125th Large Scale Research/Exploration Fleet travels into the Messiah System.[/list][/list][/list][/list]






            Alternate Reality - Pre-Great Gulch
            Bio-mechanical, empire of Yer-bootii.

              January
              • Cassel appears in orbit of "Another Planet" in the M55NGC6909 Planetary Cluster and is picked up by the pirate vessel Xantho Poressa.

              Cybernetic enhanced humanoid, empire of Yer-bootii; Great Gulch has limited expansion significantly.

                • With Kavryn's appearance in deep space, reality shifts.  Cassel finds himself on the transport or cargo vessel Xantho Poressa.  Kavryn is picked up.

                Toys:

                Time/Reality Displacement Locket
                Using Super Fold Quartz, it creates a field that keeps the wearer in the time and/or reality that they are visiting, as long as it remains active.  When deactivated (or when the wearer dies), the wearer returns to their origin time and reality.

                Range: touch.  Therefore
                Duration: always on until deactivated (realistically, the characters exchange them for freshly charged ones once every 2 to 4 weeks).

                Vehicles (including but not limited to ships, variable craft, and EX Gear) all have a variation of the Displacement locket installed.


                Super Dimension Time/Reality Fold Booster
                Allows for travel backwards and forwards in time, and to alternate realities.  It is based off of Super Fold Quartz using technology that employs Fold Dislocations (really cracks through time and reality).  At present, only the SDFN-08 Focker has one installed.


                VF Engines
                (any VF other than the VF-25, etc.)  Engines are upgraded to Stage II Thermonuclear reaction type engines, which include a partially effective ISC, and usually add anti-spiritia micro-missile launchers.
