Character Information:
Character's Name: Jennifer Adrasteia aka Jenny
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 65kgs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Family Origin: Human, Caucasian, genetically of Greek heritage

Description:
Jenny is a young woman of short stature but stocky build. She has spent most of her life in the open air doing a variety of physical jobs. She looks somewhat weatherbeaten, she is tanned but nothing like you'd find from a holiday or a trip to a tanning salon. She always seems reluctant to sit still, as if she has energy to burn. Whilst she is something of a tomboy, with short dark hair, she is plain rather than being either particularly attractive or unattractive.

Birth Place:
Girtablilu: This planet is the most stable and hospitable in the system.  Vast plains and savannah's cover the surface, with the planet's near earth like rotational speed and mild seasons giving the planet an almost paradisic allure.  Girablilu was the first planet colonized in the 18 Scorpii system after Buthridas was made secure, and has maintained a relaxed and rural development structure through planned social development.  Girtablilu is the primary producer of lumber, organic food, and luxury items in the system.  The citizens of the planet view themselves as enlightened and hard workers, though the rest of the system thinks them lucky and easy layabouts.  During the initial colonization of the system and the chartering of the constitution, both the Zendreadi and Human representatives from the colony fleet agreed that they each wished to preserve their blood lines and unique cultures.  As a result you will find that only fifteen percent of Girtablilu's population is more than 1/4 Zendreadi.

Background:
The Adrasteia's have always been subsistence cattle farmers, a life Jenny grew up with and started working herself once she was old enough. Her family always moved with the herd, moving hundreds of miles at a time across the plains. As a result, Jenny's schooling was often interrupted, and school materials were always in short supply. Her mother, having six children with little more than nine years between them, managed to run a home school with various materials begged and borrowed from their travels. Jenny always made sure she got chance to read all the books she could lay her hands on.

Life was rough and tumble, she has two older brothers who are now aiding their father full time, and she was the first member of the family to want to do something else with her life other than go cattle herding, although her brother Philip actually beat her into training. Her parents were uncertain about how to handle their "wayward" daughter, and they were worried about whether the two younger children would also look to leave when they were old enough. Jenny managed to win them over, a combination of stubbornness and hard work managing to get her into pilot training. Once she was there, she very quickly got dubbed "Farmgirl" for her lack of social niceties and generally blunt and honest approach to things. However, anyone that got to know her found that she was a good friend in a crisis, and could certainly act with more decorum than most people believed her capable of.

She has always made sure to track down her family during holiday and leave, and goes back to put a hard shift in, from her perspective to stop her going soft, but also to show her parents that she hasn't forgotten her roots. She has made sure to go the extra mile to make sure her parents have never had cause to regret their decision to let her go, and she has also tiptoed around her younger siblings so that they can decide for themselves which way they want to go. Her older brother Philip is also in the military, but as an aircraft engineer, and they have been fortunate enough to progress through their respective careers in reasonably close proximity. The two youngest siblings have attended college, but are still deciding what to do with their lives, though neither looks likely to join the military, much to the relief of the entire family.

Hola!

Seen as my original post plus all the replies (and PMs) regarding various games got eaten, could I get a brief recap of what's on offer at the moment, just so I know :)

Thanks

Open Discussion Board / Hi everyone
« on: November 14, 2007, 07:23:35 AM »
As Jester has asked me to make a very important post in Announcements (and if you haven't read it, go read it now!) I thought I might as well drop by to say hi whilst I'm at it and just give you all a quick update on what I've been up to since last year(ish).

First off, I'm still in one piece, nothing has broken or fallen off which is always good news :D I seem to have spent a good chunk of the last year decorating my house so the walls are no longer bilious green or Chelsea blue  :P

I finally finished my LPC (Law Practice Course) after 2 years of unbelievably hard slog and I sat my last exam in June this year. I graduated with a Commendation (which only about 10%-15% of the course managed) and seen as half the year had to resit some of their exams it was nice to sail straight through. I even got my name in the Times!  :) I've also managed to get a training contract at a local law firm so actually becoming a fully qualified lawyer should take place some time in early 2009!

Other than that, a close friend passed away in February and it's been a tough time since then. Her partner is understandably devastated and we've been taking each day as it comes in that respect. Having to speak at her funeral when I was intending to be embarassing the pair of them by speaking at their wedding was very hard to come to terms with.

It's nice to see a few familiar faces around here, hope everything has been going well for you all.

Dan has just phoned me and asked me to let everyone know that Alexander Luca Henwood was born at 00:56am today :)

He is currently in the special baby care unit as he's two and a half months premature, but he's perfect according to Dad, who's just heading back up to see him now. Nat is also doing well.

A photo will hopefully follow soon, depending on whether I can pick it up on my phone. :)

« on: February 06, 2005, 08:56:12 PM »
I'm currently feeling pretty rough, and have been since around Thursday/Friday time, hence my lack of posting and so on. Apologies to all my players and GMs and I hope to be up to speed soon. I would have posted this earlier but I've had a really bad headache and I haven't been able to look at my PC screen for long, much less concentrate on a post :(

General Announcements / Shadow Dancers Recruitment
« on: December 14, 2004, 07:08:26 PM »
OK, I need a few more people for the Shadow Dancers, 2-3 at most, so anyone interested please let me know in this thread.

The pace of the game is relatively slow by necessity rather than design, but the quality of posting should be pretty high all round, so bear that in mind.

General Announcements / General Notice
« on: December 06, 2004, 09:29:52 PM »
I feel like I'm repeating myself with yet another post of this ilk, but I feel as if fate is conspiring against me.

I got hauled in front of the head of HR at work the other week to be told that my usage of the PC at work was not acceptable. Basically, they monitor people at random and they caught me hook, line and sinker. They saw all my campaign info, saved posts and web page accesses, and none of it impressed them.

Seen as the Managing Partner, Head of HR, the Senior Partner I report to, my Line Manager, the Consultant and the other senior deparment member all know about this now, I'm right royally screwed in terms of being able to use the PC for my typical trick of posting or drafting things whilst being stuck on hold for hours every day.

So I've got a choice, keep posting and get reprimanded officially and then kicked out if I don't stop, or cut the BS and stop misusing their net access, keep my job and my future etc etc. Sounds melodramatic, but it's bloody scary when it comes to it.

When I could cope with the posting I've found myself lumbered with I was living in the same road as all my friends and I was a student who didn't care about lectures. Now I have a 9-5 job and various things I have to do out of hours which doesn't leave me the kind of time I used to have. I can't turn posts on and off like a tap and I can't guarantee that I'll be around to post at any one given time, so I'm going to have to cut down on things again, it's the only way I'm going to be able to carry on gaming in some way, shape or form.

At the moment, I'm going to have to call a halt to the Project Ganymede game (on the MRC), it's something that was a great idea back when I came up with it but I can't do the concept justice and I've been providing rubbish support for my players, so unless someone wants to step in and run the whole thing with my blessing, the game will have to bite the dust.

There are other things that I will want to cut down on as well, but I'm hoping that I can keep it to a minimum, but I can't guarantee anything. I've got so many other things on my plate that I can't devote myself anymore, and it seems to be getting more pronounced with time.

So, if you want to bitch at me, offer to help or whatever, just say, to be honest, I'm at a really low ebb, although my work has noticeably improved
