Magister (Game 2 Active) / PvP Hacking War Dice rolls and skill checks

This thread is specifically for hacking attempt skill checks in the PvP category.  Players wishing to post a hacking attempt effecting another player character will need to first post a hacking or other computer skillset roll here allowing for the opposing player to make a save roll.  Both skillsets and rolls will be compared before the initiating player may make their post.

Greetings everyone.  So I've been searching through internet archives trying to find a copy of the site and boards from 2008 and 2011.  Reasons: Software updates at both of those times caused us to lose massive amounts of posts made with any foreign language character set.  I've attempted using Wayback Machine but they have the forum topics but not the actual posts.  Any suggestions would be great.

Greetings everyone, the time is officially here for new character recruitment to the Magister campaign!  Magister is the continuation of the Chaerilidae campaign, which was always intended to head towards counterinsurgency and piracy.  During this recruitment process, existing characters will continue with the 'free rp' section before the fast forward to the campaign start.  The campaign itself will have players managing salvage resources to maintain their VFs, upgrade them, and keep their tech crews fed and happy.  Those campaign mechanics will be explained in game as they are introduced.  In the meantime we have openings for the following:

VT-17 Remora
3 VF Combat Pilots
VTAQ-11 Seneca Dragons
3 VF Combat Pilots
3 VF EWO/RIO Back Seaters

Players wishing to play an EWO/RIO will need to either create both a Pilot and RIO or coordinate with another player to be their pilot.  Joining instructions can be found in this thread: https://forum.macrossrpg.org/index.php?topic=3107.0

Magister Character Creation

Welcome to Magister, the continuation of the Chaerilidae campaign timeline.  Magister is a play by post RPG set in the overall universe of the anime Macross, but with the unique twist of being in the 18 Scorpii star system and the year 2055. A more in depth setting description is available in the Three Spheres Collaboration Board or by contacting the GM, Zed Cassel.  The game itself centers on the ship formerly known as Chaerilidae, a locally constructed fast tri-hulled carrier, and its crew of instructors and advanced tactics trainees as they resort to piracy in order to survive and maybe, just maybe, find answers and vengeance.

Players in Magister take control of a pilot, an EWO/RIO, or potentially both, and their unique technical crews (pseudo-pc’s without stats but part of the pc’s entourage and responsibilities) that were students aboard the Chaerilidae during the invasion that set it on its path of piracy.  Students aboard the Chaerilidae were the best of the graduates of their year at Leyte Academy, and as such are above average in almost every way possible.  You’ll find the stats tend to reflect this.  These individuals are the best military officers of their year for three whole planets and every other settlement in the star system.  Elite who have fought for their spot to be aboard and have a career in mind within the military.

Since each student was in a numbered place (and the GM actually planned out space for logical retconning), new play characters up until the launch of the main campaign thread of piracy will be presumed to have been a part of the crew from the start of the Chaerilidae campaign.  This means they will have received their callsigns from their fellow pilots at the naming ceremony here https://forum.macrossrpg.org/index.php?topic=2436.120.  To reflect this active players will have an opportunity to suggest potential callsigns during your character creation and at the end of the sheet creation, a poll will be created for everyone to vote in.

Special Thanks and Mention to Aaron Sketchley for the majority of information that has been pulled into this creation process.  Sketchley's website has more in depth character creation instruction not specifically related to Magister.

* This character creation process is only for characters originating as students aboard the Chaerilidae.  Special character creation may be attempted upon first contacting the GM and will likely involve a delayed introduction due to retcon issues.

So in character sheet prep for Magister I was reflecting on how Pilot: VF is generic, and how Pilot: Power Armour is used to use Ex-Gear itself...so here's my question, should there be a Pilot: VF Ex-gear skill as well to reflect the difference between the cockpits of say a VF-1 with or without EX-Gear systems?

Alright everyone, here's how the transition is going to go; Moving forward you will see existing date threads unlock after a brief GM summary post is made.  A new reply will be made instead of just an edit, so as long as you are paying attention you should notice it.  These threads will be unlocked one at a time, and kept open until either all parties have posted in the coordination thread that they are complete with the RP arch of that evening (or between classes depending on the GM post and continuity) or 3 days have gone by without a post to the thread.  At that time the post will be locked, and the next day's GM post made.  There will be no combat in these threads for you to engage in, and gm interaction will be limited to npc direct usage as long as its been prearranged with the GM before you make the post starting the interaction.

Rules:
1: No automatically involving an NPC without checking with the GM or Super-Player.
2: Posts may reflect the day's activities with regards to the GM posted activities for the characters but nothing about specific events unless referenced in the GM Prompt.
3: If a player character is needed and the player hasn't returned to the MRG yet to check in since the start of 2019, best to message the GM first for permission.
4: Out of Character conversations should be handled in the 3S Concepts and Collaboration board https://forum.macrossrpg.org/index.php?board=83.0

Start posting things you want to work on for your returning characters in the days leading up to Magister's opening posts!  Some of you had active conflicts going on with your characters when Chaerilidae ended and here would be a good place to discuss continuing those conflicts, where you eventually want them to head, and just verify that your character is who it is.  Feel free to stick with vague themes and use this as just a sounding off point to get the attention of other players for the sake of exploring specific themes or clarifying concepts publicly.

So I thought we'd get a discussion of an updated galactic timeline going.  Not being able to speak or read Japanese, I'm not up to date on things since Frontier was having all its side media released, but I was curious if anyone's seen any place with a good take on galactic events and the overall history of how the N.U.N. charter came about in the first place?
