Later, rather than sooner today, my internet connection is being upgraded to ADSL from the current wireless modem that I've been using since I arrived in Japan.  The good news is that we will be getting an IP phone as well, without having to shell out the big bucks for an NTT line.  Combined telephone-fax unit here we come!

I'm not sure what, if any, delays there will be with the instillation (aside from the lengthy wait for the instillation dudes to arrive at the house.)

Apparently it works.

Very, very fast works.  (Change of 75 to 125 Kb/min to 5+ MB/min.  :D

Once again, I have to state how much I hate the way the US has regulated our IT systems.  Good to see there was no major problems, though.  How's the availability on that?

Availability?  If you mean on ADSL type connections - there's a lot.  Which translates as competition, which keeps the costs down.  (If the USA is anything like Canada, there tends to be only one or a few IPs in a given area.  The effect of that is that prices rise.)

The service that we originally wanted - cable modem, IP phone and cable TV, wasn't allowed in our area so we had to go with the 'lesser' service.

From the middle of next week, relatives are coming to visit from across the ocean.  I'll be very busy playing tour guide, translator, and culture teacher type person (the later two roles I'm not looking forward to.)

What this means for the MRG is that you guys have basically until Monday to get any and all requests in.  Thereafter, I make no guarantees - that includes character creation and GM posts!

Enjoy whatever repreive may be coming from me...

How do you know you are sleepy-tired?

When you put orange juice into your coffee...

and don't notice until it is half drunk!

Off to visit other cities, prefectures and historical type places.

ROFL !!!! :D :D :D

Mind you I must admit I've done some stupid things whilst very very tired. Made myself a coffee, then tried to pour it back in to the kettle thinking the mug was filled with water.

Have gotten up at 3am after 1 hours sleep and when and had a shower. Came out and Nat asked me wtf I was doing lol :jester2:

Wow... that's a level of tired I haven't hit yet.  Hopefully you get a decent seat on the JR, and a chance to rest?

JR?  Heck no!  I live in Kansai.  Private railway companies are the way to go (and cheaper too.)

It was about a 2 hour trip there on 3 seperate trains (all express!) and another 2 hours back... legs tired... feel old.  The castle had lots and lots of big (and/or steep) steps.

And... today's another busy day...

Weekend.  What weekend?

Wow, that's funny... your wife doesn't happen to belong to a garden club in Kansai, does she?  A friend and I just mailed something to a garden club in that area, if I'm reading the map right (and may well not be).

And I feel your pain, as far as lots of big and steep steps - I tend to spend my weekends running up and down West Virginia's quasi-famous hills w/ about 15 kilos of extra weight on my back.  Nice to be able to sit down at the computer for a moment and let your mind go numb, huh?

Glad you made it back alright!
