Dinner Date
"So much for a night of relaxation. I'm beginning to think we shouldn't be allowed to go on leave, given the bad luck we Wraiths have been having."

"Yeah..." Mjuiri replied slowly outting away her phone. "I'm starting to get fricking sick of getting trouble from something I can't even see. This spirita crap is 90% trouble and 10% benefits." Though her eyes didn't tell much her sloping ears betrayed her disappointment.

"I'm sure they'll be alright. Let's go see if we can cheer them up."

Mjuiri didn't reply. Optimism had proved to be a good recipe for disappointment lately.

"Major, if there's nothing more for me here, I'm going to head back to the barracks. Can I do anything for you?"

Levi's positive energy had been largely ineffective on Mjuiri, partly because in her eyes Levi's treatment looked a lot like that of a quack shaman and partly because as soon as the negative thoughts from the incident itself vanished it was replaced by negative thoughts associated with the aftermath to this incident. I just lost my best fighter and my field spirita-generator... She waved dismissively with her hand at Zed's words. "No, its alright. Nothing more to be done. I'll be heading back to my quarters as well. We need some rest. This was supposed to be relaxation after all..." The whole ordeal had left her drained of energy and quite efficiently killed any expectations she had for what little remained of the evening.

LV-426. Prior to leaving.
Checking her electronic mailbox as routine to kill the few minutes she had left before leaving on their mission Mjuiri noted to her suprise she had a mail. A non-profession mail.

Quote
How are things?

The repairs are going well here on Meena, and life is returning to normal. Hope to hear from you soon.

Miss you.
King.

She slumped down in the chair by her desk with a deep sigh. Life returning to normal... Those four words sounded so incredibly peaceful in her ears, and she wondered what it would be like living a normal life again. Part of her wanted that, and part of her doubted she would enjoy it in the long run.

Glancing at her watch and noting she still ha a few minutes left she hit the reply button.

Quote
Hey!
Glad to hear things are going well. Things could definitely be going better here. I swear this assignment is nothing but trouble at times.
I could really do with some vacation on Meena. And real vacation this time. We could skip right past the kidnapping.

Leaving on a mission now. Don't know when I'll reachable again.

Miss you too,
Mjuiri

Surface of Elysium
The approach to the Varuta ship was somewhat taxing on the nerves at times, but luckily T'tul's information again proved to be correct. Glancing at the Zentraedi letters surrounding her in the cockpit she cursed her ignorance of the language more then once.

The landing procedures where also a bit different from what they usually did, but luckily enough they where self explanatory enough for them to adopt without much trouble.

"I'm at a loss. <...>Do any of you have any experience with the insides of a Varuta Large Battleship?"

"No experience here." Mjuiri replied looking around the assembled pilots hoping anyone would know. "If no one have any experience we go in the general direction of where a brig would be on a UN ship. Most their tech seem to be similar to ours. If nothing else moving around might help us locate a terminal or a wall map we could use."

Zed wracked his brain for any intel he'd ever encountered of the Varuta warships, but sadly he could not conjure up any briefings that covered the brig section of such ships.  "Sorry Void, I've got nothing.  Wraiths, if we're discovered make sure you keep on the move.  Getting your spiritia absorbed is a far more debilitating injury to the group.  We need you up and alert."

Lishwa get out of her craft like the others feeling so cramped and uncomfortable climbing down the small stairs getting off her craft and headed toward the pilot ready room/locker room like the others. Here we are in vampire's lair. Wish I had a stake with me... Trying to keep a light joke in mind just enough to ease the tension. Feeling her heart almost at her throat. Her throat as dry as the desert. Noticing that there is other varutan pilots in the room. Wonder if we should check those lockers ? but those varutans never had a map in the first place right ? or perhaps they did ? bummer..! wish I am not bone head for stuff like this

I'm at a loss. <...>Do any of you have any experience with the insides of a Varuta Large Battleship?

"No, sir I don't" reply shortly Lishwa slightly whispering toward T'ul hoping the other varutan pilot in the room didn't hear. I wonder if varutan pilots ever chat at all ? or just like. be zombie till they are given orders or something ?

"If no one have any experience we go in the general direction of where a brig would be on a UN ship. Most their tech seem to be similar to ours. If nothing else moving around might help us locate a terminal or a wall map we could use."

Okay, but I am going to check the lockers first. Moves toward the row of lockers and started to search the lockers before heading out of the room. just going to make sure that we didn't leave a lead under our noses before setting out.

Surface of Elysium

Having extensive experience as a combat sniper who would often work in rough environments, a little too big Varuta pilot suit,
and coffin-like cockpit of the Fz-109 was OK for Jung. But being surrounded with Zentraedi letters which he was unable to
understand was a different story. Damn, now I know that you were right, Beolov. The Z-language does indeed come in handy.

Back when Jung was working with his friends three years ago, Anderi Beolov, the team's combat engineer, was often made fun
of from always studying the Zentraedi language in his free time. Everyone laughed at him, because by the time the team
needed to understand or use the language, they always received help from HQ's support/tech team; therefore, it seemed to be
obvious that the particular language was always off from the possible list of study subjects in one's free time.

Luckily, this time he had an ally who's got good command of the language. If I'm not wrong, he's supposed to be 1st Lt. T'tul.
By the time the Wraiths were heading to the ready room, Jung was carefully taking mental notes from any information he could
obtain from his line of sight and also his corner of the eye, while trying his best to not act like an excited and curious tourist
looking around a new site. Is that some sort of food station? Hmm, I wonder what these Varuta pilots eat. Do they care flavors?

I'm at a loss. <...>Do any of you have any experience with the insides of a Varuta Large Battleship?
"Negative. First time being in one." Jung shook his head with the reply. We need intel. But from where?
"If no one have any experience we go in the general direction of where a brig would be on a UN ship.
<...> If nothing else moving around might help us locate a terminal or a wall map we could use."

Jung nodded his head in agreement. Along the way to the brig, there's gotta be some sort of map/sign indicating the location.

Just then, he saw 1st Lt. Kriwalyk moving toward the lockers. He thought of stopping her, but decided to leave her instead.
She's the intelligence specialist. Let's hope that she comes up with something useful; and also hope that it doesn't trigger alarm.
"Wraiths, if we're discovered make sure you keep on the move. <...> We need you up and alert."
Jung silently nodded again, and then began surveying the surrounding environment. With eyes and ears open, he also payed
attention to catch any unusual vibration/seismic activity. And here we are in the eye of the storm...

OOC: Kudos to Cassel and (especially) Mr.F for wrapping up the dangling threads from LV-426.

Surface of Elysium

None of the lockers are locked.  Thievery isn?t a problem amongst mindless drones.  There is nothing inside of them except for the bare essentials needed for piloting: flight suit, helmet, gloves, and boots; in ALL of the lockers checked.

The Varuta at the other end of the room all stand up in unison, go to a set of lockers in a row, get out helmets and gloves, put them on, and head down the ladders to the Fz-109 in the hanger below.  At precisely ##:00 on the wall clock in the room, the sounds of their Fz-109?s leaving the ship can be heard.

They leave and head in the direction of the rear of the ship.  In a hallway that runs a few hundred metres in the direction they want, the find a wall computer terminal.  The Zentraedi reading members of the squad attempt to find the brig or a map of the ship.

As they are checking, a pair of shaggy heard and unshaven men turn from a connecting hallway, and head in the direction that the Black Wraiths came in.  The Black Wraiths immediately stiffen up, and do their best to look like Varuta drones; specifically the only ones that they?ve seen so far ? the ones in the locker room.

The two men are in stained and graffiti covered Varuta Flight Suits.  One of them speaks, ?Look at them there drones.  Always huddled together... I bet they can?t take a crap without having someone tell them to wipe their bums!?

?Speaking of bums,? the other man says, ?man oh man, them there Varuta chicks have really hot ones.  They certainly do a good job at keeping in shape.?

?Have you ever taken a Varuta chick to bed?? the first one retorts.  ?Don?t!  A friend of mine once did it by hacking into the computer that gives them their orders.  The girl just laid their like a dead fish!  Turn off city!?

?Well, they?re still good for this!?  One of the two scruffy pirates, now close enough to notice the stink of days of sweat, piss, and beer, stands behind the two girls in the squad, Kavryn and Kriwalyk, and fondles their bums.

?Ho ho ho!? his partner chuckles, as they exchange a look with each other.

Checking out the lockers for clues perhaps maps as she now that found it was outright silly should have known... they didn't need any... .Followed the rest of the BW team a bit late. Boy do I feel stupid... Realizing that but she couldn't help it as she had to just take a leap of chance on that one.

While trying to find the brig in the map notices two people. Totally classed out as major bad guys. they look like those shiver me timbers from old classics... Trying her best to imitate the drone varuta as best as she could. How did they do this? Oh right... just stared blank and try not to do anything suspicious... Felt the cold fear running down her spine most of it because she never thought that there is a bit of 'sentient' and 'free will' person working within the varutan ranks. Guess, they improvise at some level I guess... .

Hearing what they said about the varutans especially the crap joke Eww that is so disgusting... and makes me felt sick wearing their uniform... so outright yuck..! Felt a bit annoyed but still keeping it cool or at least she pulls an extreme 110% percent of it at least according to her anyway. Still keep looking stiff and blank like a good varutan drone. Hearing them speaks about bums... before she knows it she felt the grubby hands touching her. Aarrrghh...! Wished you're somewhere else buddy ! Sure loves to make a swish cheese out of you with a spoon! But she knows that if she react to their groping the rest of the BW teams could be compromised and their mission could fail. So she just pretends it was another day like those bad days in subways. You're so dead bearded dudes!

Again, by the terminal, Mjuiri silently cursed her lack of Zentraedi language skills. Hopefully the ones who DID know the language had sufficient computer skills to handle the terminal on their own. She would rather avoid communicating among themselves in the middle of a corridor like this. Drones didn't appear very chatty, so the BWs had better not be either.

Spotting the graffiti covered individuals out of the corner of her eye was a surprise and it took some effort not to turn her head to get a better look at them. If they are in the base they are supposed to be here and no Drone would pay them any attention.

She did however listen in on their conversation. Them being there was a bit of a mystery and no matter how trivial their conversation might appear to be it could perhaps give her some hint to what was up with that. A computer that gives the drones orders... Interesting.

"Well, they're still good for this!"
Even though the men where out of her field of vision she could still tell from the smell that at least one of them had moved closer. Unconsciously she had tensed up and had to remind herself that the drones had appeared to be quite at ease.

The sudden fondling of her bum however made her eyes widen in surprise and she prayed she hadn't unconsciously tensed up again or inched away. A corner of her mind silently wondered how a drone would react should anyone get a bit too close to its sidearm; perhaps then it would be ok to break his arm.

"See!  They tense up like normal women," says the scruffy fellow doing the touching, "but no reaction!  Bo~~ring!"

The other man looks at his watch.  "Hey, let's get moving.  The boss's flight is due to defold in orbit in a few minutes.  You know how she gets when we're not in the control room ready for her."

"Yeah!," says the touching man, who abruptly stops.  "Let's go."  The two scruffy men hurry off, and around a corner.

Everyone breathes a sigh of relief.

T'tul is the first to speak.  "I can't find a brig, jail, or holding cell anywhere on the map.  Can you?"  T'tul asks Kriwalyk, who also cannot find one.

"What should we look for now?" T'tul says, directing his question to towards Kavryn and Cassel.

Kavryn quickly responded to T'tul by requesting that he work with her to "hack" the ship's computer.

Within a few presses on the touch screen, he spoke, "nothing, or at least nothing that this terminal can access is encrypted.

I'm opening the ship's international operations log...

Ok... first entry, from just a minute ago... drone #1232143 activated terminal A1231 and registered order #Z-13-12431234-B... pressing the link to the order takes us too...

The Internal Operations Command Log... drone #1232143's orders were to clean the toilets on level 13...
Major, it'll take some time to skim read all of these orders..."

T'tul stops reading the information out loud, and concentrates on skim reading.  About a minute later he speaks again, "ma'am, in the past two days worth of commands, there's no mention of a prisoner.  However, on two days worth of commands, at 06:55, 11:55, and 17:55, differing clones have been ordered to retrieve food and water from a cafeteria on level 7, and take it to a suite on the same level... ah... suite 7-13-3-46.  Exactly 30 minutes later, differing clones were ordered to retrieve dishes and return them to the cafeteria... I think this is her... er, the Lt. Colonel.  Nothing else looks out of the ordinary for a ship's day-to-day operations.

Here's a map of the ship.  The suite is directly above us... though the interior of the suite itself isn't show on the map.  Elevators are around the corner at the next hallway," T'tul points in the direction that the two scruffy pirates headed in.  "Let's go check it out."

They head to the elevators, head up to level 7, and as soon as they leave the elevators, they see the entrance to the suite.  Outside, of the elevators there are two Varuta with rifles standing guard, and outside of the room, to either side of the room are a pair of Varuta, also with rifles.  They don't visibly react to the Black Wraiths, but they are all watching them very closely.

T'tul confidently and purposefully strides out of the elevator, turns, and heads down the corridor away from the suite.  At the first intersecting hallway, he turns the corner.  The others follow.

As soon as they are around the corner, T'tul asks Kavryn, "we can't go in with guns blazing... given all that security, the door is probably under observation, and we don't want to raise any alarms, especially without knowing that the Lt. Colonel is inside."

T'tul looks at his watch.  "It's only 10 minutes until a drone is ordered to pick up food from the cafeteria near here.  I suggest that we take the food from the drone, and one of you guys takes the food in...  I'd do it, but I'm afraid that I lost the impersonation skills that I had when I was mind transferred into this new body..."

Hears as they mentioned something about being in a hurry and they are as what they expected a dead fish in the water.

"Hey, let's get moving.  The boss's flight is due to defold in orbit in a few minutes.  You know how she gets when we're not in the control room ready for her."

Who is their boss ? do they refer to their employer varuta or was it their mercenary boss that work with them ? Keeping her thoughts to herself hearing their moving away in a hurry far away from them. With the scruffy shiver me timber out of their ways she doesn't want to raise an alarm by sighing or anything despite the relief that she felt. Then she tried to help t'tul but didn't provide any valuable assistance. The other tried to find the mention of the brig in the map but there is no such thing.

Uh-oh ? They didn't have a brig so that mean did they kill of their prisoner or perhaps brainwashed them to become one of them ? Or perhaps they didn't put it on this computer about the brig as drone doesn't need to know where the brig is ? Speculating and tries to analyze thing as best as she could although she find it fruitless to even try it but she can't help it that way she always does it overthinking and over worrying about other things when she should be focus on other things.

"we can't go in with guns blazing... given all that security, the door is probably under observation, and we don't want to raise any alarms, especially without knowing that the Lt. Colonel is inside."

Why they had a guard at that place ? so that means that they too doesn't take any chances as they must have thought of probable infiltration attempt. Guess they are not all numbskulls, some one in their higher ups have ability to think freely but why did they choose to serve within the varutan ranks ? And who is this person that lives in the suites ? is it a tactical commander mercenary ? or their higher ranking officer ? Hmm... too many questions here.. better stop asking dumb questions and start to focus on the matter here.. how are we going to investigate it ? yeah I agree that we can't charge in... that is plain dumb..

Takes a good look around the area at first trying to spot if there is a hidden security camera as she tries to be conspicuous about it pretend just blankly stares around watching the area after she knows it was clear she then lightly whisper to T'Tul " Sure I'll do it but what do we do if the target is not in the suite ? or perhaps if she was brainwashed ? can you tell me about further orders once I gain entry to the suite ?"

Ouchie, I sounded like a drone already... a dumb drone that is.. Felt the adrenaline and other high tide thrill ride feeling all mixed emotion of fear and excitement and most of all she felt nervous her hands lightly shakes for a moments as she fisted her cold hands for a moment trying to maintain her composure at the moment trying to stay frosty as they say.

"<...> I'd do it, but I'm afraid that I lost the impersonation skills that I had when I was mind transferred into this new body..."

Mjuiri had to smile at that final comment. If T'tul had meant it as a joke she didn't know but she thought the way he said it held a hint of self irony in it. Something that was less entertaining was the conduct of their latest female addition.

"Pay attention." Mjuiri hissed at Kriwalyk, giving her a slap on the shoulder with the back of her hand to make sure she got her attention. "We will go with T'tul's plan. We will have to make sure the food-drone don't attract any attention. I would prefer it if we could find a place to take it out of commission for a while. T'tul and Jung, check over the map for any suitable locations around the route between the food-pickup and our target."

After a quick look up and down the corridor to make sure they where still alone Mjuiri continued. "Kriwalyk you will take the drone's place and deliver the food. Inform the Colonel that we are here, and release her from any constraints if possible. Assuming that she is up to the task instruct her to wait for the second clone to fetch the dishes, take it out and steal its uniform. She ought to be able to walk right out of there. Instruct her to walk down this hall when she gets out. We will move around here and try to keep an eye out in case anything goes wrong. If its not the Colonel just deliver the food and walk out."

Mjuiri looked around the assembled pilots. "Any questions, suggestions or objections? If not then lets get to it. The clock is ticking on those 10 min..."

T'tul looks at Jung, and mouths the words, "I don't have a map..."  He looks back at Kavryn, "I think I know a place around the corner... Jung, come with me."

He leads Jung around the corner, and they do a brief walk, and check, of the area between the cafeteria and the suite.  T'tul points out a toilet just off of the most direct route.  He opens it, and turns the lock to make it look like it is occupied (red marker over the knob,) and leaves the door ajar.

The 10 minutes is over faster than expected.  Jung and T'tul have no recourse, but to grab the food drone on their own.  Jung grabs the tray from the front, T'tul grabs the drone from behind.

Using the drone's uniform's arm sleeves and pant legs, they fashion crude ropes to tie and gag the drone.  T'tul then locks the drone into the toilet.

They head back, and T'tul points at Kriwalyk, "lose the flight suit.  The food drone only had the base uniform on."

Kriwalyk takes off the flight suit, gets the food tray from Jung, and quickly walks towards the entrance of the suite.

The four guards briefly glance at her as she enters their line of sight, and then ignore her.  Despite her nervousness, she's not out of the ordinary.

She stands in front of the door a bit longer than necessary, as she waffles between pressing the door chime or the switch to open the door.  She opts for the switch, justifying that if it's a prisonner in the suite, the prisonner wouldn't be able to open the door from the inside.

She enters, and lets the door slide shut behind her.  The first room of the suite inside is brightly lit, and there is a light purple haired and dark purple skinned woman in what's best described as solid beige pajamas standing in the center of the room.

"You're late," the woman says.  A clock on the wall reads about 2 and a half minutes past the hour.  "Who are you?"

***

In the hall outside, T'tul glances at the time-piece built into the flight suit.  "What's taking her so long?"

"Pay attention."

Jerked back slightly being caught surprised by the sudden hiss she kavryn zolan's snake lunged on her face or something sinister like that. Okay, bad move on my part I guess. Paying attention toward the discussion like she always been in the first place.

"Yes, maam understood" replied shortly as the orders are crystal clear.

Watches the other goes somewhere and then seeing them return with the base uniform.

"lose the flight suit.  The food drone only had the base uniform on."

Takes off her flight suit within record time then put on the base uniform. No time to get squeamish as lives is on the line.

Walking toward the gate notices the four guards as she notices that they didn't pay to much attention or perhaps they are already bored as hell guarding the base.

so far so good, at least they're not asking some id or password something like that.. and most importantly they're not frisk searching me... had enough grooping for one day...

Gets inside after having a bit difficulties with the choice of the buttons notices a light purple and  dark purple skinned woman standing in the middle of the room.

Nope, she is not Lt.Kim so that means I just put the food and walk away like we plan it... Thinking for a moment that the job is going to be simple and uneventful.Wanting to smile widely but she can't as drones don't smile so a big wide mental smile on her mind just going to have to do.

"You're late,"

Felt a sharp thin needle pierced on her heart as she felt that sweat started to fall from her forehead. For a moment she was sure that it was smooth sailing now that the woman notices that there is something out of the ordinary.

Damn it... Err better think something to say ? or does drone ever say anything at all ?

Trying to figure out on what to say to her or even trying to figure out whether she should say anything at all toward the woman

"Who are you?"

Err... room service ? no no wait.. Ummm Guessing that drones doesn't have a name but they do have something for them to refer them by perhaps a series of numbers ? Okay no time to panic..and she didn't asked me why I am late she just mutters you're late so cause I am a drone I don't have to comment on that.

"I am a servant" answers shortly with plain tone as possible trying her best to hide any sign that suggesting that she is not a varutan drone. Putting down the food on the table then hurries toward the door.

The women's eye's harden, and she gives Kriwalyk a hard look.

"You're not a drone.  Who are you?"

The woman's posture changes to a defensive stance, her arms are only half raised up.

"You're not a drone.  Who are you?"

Hearing the word as she just about a walk away toward the door.Felt as if her heart stop, her throat is dry feeling the panic as the fear runs down her spines. This is so messed up, What the hell am I going to say to her to convince her that I am a drone ? Hmm something perhaps about those perv mercs that I could use ? I know that I can't try to fight with her... not with all the guards outside the room if they hear a ruckus they'll charge in and it is all over..Kriwalyk turns toward the direction of the woman as she approaches her slowly trying to get close to her as close as possible.

"I am sorry, but I really don't know what is the answer to that question... I don't know my name... and I don't remember anything about my past experiences" Looks downward."All I know that I wake up inside a lab... and there is about two scruffy bearded smelly man talking to another person as I was hooked up with all this wires... then I felt a jolt surges into me...filling my head with images of how to perform special type of 'services' after that the two men then took me away to their sleeping quarters... then I perform the 'services' that I was required to as I was programmed... they told me that I could remain 'free will'  like this if I keep quiet or else they are going to beat me again... and threatened to kill me if anyone find out about this , please... don't kill me.." with her slightly wavering almost sobbing noise as kriwalyk pretends that she is just a mere drone that have been slightly modified hoping that the lie will be enough to explain on her rather actions that appear to be not like of a varutan drones.

Keeps her eyes downward still not daring raising up to meet the woman's eyes to add more effect toward the lie she makes trying to make the impression that she is truly just a harmless slightly modified drone not trying to show any sign of hostility and not trying to show sign as a potential threat. Twiddles her fingers as she waits for the woman's response. This is so messed up... dang !
