OOC: As the title says.  Please wrap up any outstanding character arcs here.  I've used the ideas you gave me about half a year ago (or longer?) when I was planning a much more convoluted ending to the game.  Alas, things became too complicated on my end... (the plot was that when the enemy fortress blew up the game would cut to the future and no one would have any memories.  The ensuing story would be everyone recovering their memories.  Anyhow...)

The Inovian, you're the GM of this (you have GM training, after all.)

If I don't see any action in 2 to 4 weeks, I'm going to lock this down, and move the forum to the archives.  Enjoy.

Another promotion, another thing I can never explain to the family. Zed smiled ruefully and then looked to Kavryn and saw uncertainty in her face. It didn't bother him though. He had a plan, and it involved her yet gave her the freedom he knew she needed. They'd said their goodbyes to the others, probably for the last time ever, and now were spending a day together while she made her decisions on where to go.

Over. Done. Mission complete. No matter how one labeled the phenomenon it was still equally hard to believe. She had learned that weather or not she believed or not seldom mattered. Their service, secret as it had been, might not give them much in the way of glory but it seemed it would instead give them freedom to shape their future. Well, not shape it perhaps. More like aiming it in a general direction of their choosing. Still alot more then most could hope for.

Mjuiri glanced at Zed and noticed him looking at her. Perhaps he was another constant. One of those thing that just where. The time with the wraiths had given her some fatalistic beliefs to be sure, she realised. Now, she had no doubts some things where just meant to be, unchangeable. All one could do was accept what was and do ones best to not look the fool. Sometimes, she had learned, people where meant to die and all they could do was make sure it was a good death, one that mattered. Perhaps it was the same with... other... things. She had never contemplated someone else, with her, as a constant before. The thought was enough to bring some colour to her face, despite her eyes being as devoid of emotion as ever.

"Extended leave, huh? Just... how extended?" She asked, just to say something. But as she thought about it perhaps it was actually a very accurate question. At the very least she found herself really wanting to know.

"Well...that truly depends on where you choose to go, Zola or the fringe."  Zed smiled and grasped her hand.  His dark features seemed to relax a bit as he gazed into the void of her eyes.  I could get lost in there, and yet never feel lost.  "Basically because I still don't 'quite' exist as I am," he looked down to his feet to emphasize the point, "I have to make sure my future postings are away from those that might run into me.  So I have time to make a decision."  Zed hesitates a moment.  He is loathe to risk Mjuiri's ire, or place her in a hard position, but there were times he just had to follow what he felt.  "I've looked into a few postings that might work for me, and still allow me to be close to you.  If you would like that, that is."  Zed smiled again and grasped her other hand so that they created a complete circle.  He glanced around a moment for eavesdroppers, and then continued.  "I love you Mjuiri, and I think I always will.  You just make sense to both my heart and my head, in an existence where nothing else does.  If you choose Zola my options are fewer, but I think I can get a post as the CAG of the Mammoth which will be stationed there in nine months.  The other option, the one I hope you will pick, would have me being the Headmaster of a new Advanced Tactics and Training Academy in the Scorpii 18 system, near where the exploration team you'd be joining would be based.  I was hoping I'd be able to teach and still get the opportunity to visit you.  I've put out some feelers and even found out that I'd have access to a fold capable fighter or shuttle to rendezvous with you whenever I needed it.  What do you think?"  Inside Zed's heart beat furiously, all his hope riding on Mjuiri wanting to have him around, to be willing to accept a little time apart in the hopes that they'll both still be doing good for the galaxy.

=/\= Fold to LV-426 =/\=

“you know, having just saved the asses of all of humanity... I'm fairly certain that command will give you whatever assignment you want.  Have you thought about that?  What you'd like to do from now?”

"For Now, drink something cold, then Sleep! Next, well we can't find anything better then this squadron, so i doupt i will find better assignation..."

Vick took some time to take it easy, and to remember the death that helped them survive and win.

=/\= LV-426 - arrival at the Koya west station =/\=

When Major Prefontaine shake his hands and give him congrats, Vick talk at him with a sad look:

"Sorry Sir, I failled you miserably: I was so scared of the enemy that i was easyly defeated and my armor lost his arms and weapons. I don't merit your congratulations. My compagnions or myself could have died from that error."

=/\= New assignement ceremony =/\=

After giving their new assignment to the rest of the squad, Yoshimoto finally turns to Dempsey. The French guy was honored of just being here, and thinked that, since he was the new guy here and done so much less than the others, he will probably recive a good recomandation and get assigned back to his original squadron, witch was good, but not as good as he was here. but the squadron his being dismantled, and he could not stay here as a VF-22 pilot, so he waited for the new, with sad smile on his lips, disapointed that his coworker will go others ways.

“Captain Dempsey,”

Now's my turn... SAY WHAT??? CAPTAIN???? The pilot thinked with a astonished look in his face.

“as you know, this squad is being disbanded, thus your request to stay in this squad has been denied.  However, there are other anti-spiritia warfare squads being formed and operating out of Koya Marine Base.  I've heard that there is at least one looking for a squadron leader.  If you're interested, that is...”

you're kidding, right? A chance to create a new spiritia specialist squadron? And with me as their leader?

"Of course i'm interested, sir! That will be an honnour to work again under your commandment!" He awnsered with a smile, saluting. "I hope i could get a VF-19 kai..." he whispered.

Commander Yoshimoto looks at each of the pilots with sadness in his eyes.  He then silently and slowly removes their Black Wraiths unit badges.

“Good luck in your futures.”

"Thank you sir"

=/\= Next day, on the spaceport tarmac =/\=

“Again, sorry that I have to leave in a rush.  The semester starts in a couple of weeks... but I really, really need to seek advice.  Ever since that spiritia entity left me... my spiritia senses have disappeared.  I have to try and get them back... and the only person that I know who can help is... the Master... the 'Samurai' on Neo-Edo.

Again... sorry.  It's been fun.  See you all around, somewhere.”

"Don't worry pal: I'll come see you and help you some day! i'm sure we will see each other soon! Pas d'adieu, a la prochaine, mon ami!" He said to his friend, hugging him like the people of his culture always do when they say goodbye to a close friend.

Levi dashes off and is the last person onto the Stellar Whale transport.  It launches, rockets to orbit, and folds away. Vick say goodbye to his friend, promissing to stay in contect before they leave the planet. himself, he had two weeks of vacancy to take, but also some issue with the new squadron to do. So he take the train to his appartment.
"You know you got a Good Variable Fighter when you have so much weapons that you don't have enought fingers to press all the triggers in same time!"

Mjuiri watched Zed as he spoke about the future. Their future he seemed to hope. At first she was unsure wether that was a good thing or not, seeing as she saw Zed as a typical good guy she felt sure he would want a post where he could really matter and she could not be able to force herself to be a part of something like that. But as Zed spoke a smile crept into her face.

"You've really thought about this haven't you?" She asked smiling. "I do want you around, I really do. I didn't think you would really go for the same kind of reclusive I had in mind, always figured you where more a front figure then a shadow, but it seems you've found a solution." She moved closer and wrapped her arms around Zed, standing halfway on her toes to give him a kiss. "I'll make sure I'll be at the fringe. Wouldn't stand Zola for more then a week anyway I bet, and you seem to be a pretty nice deal."
